Valuations and subsequent advice in this area is made on the basis set out in the legislation and is subject, in particular, to the courts’ interpretation of the various Acts. This area of law has been one of the most active in recent years and we ensure that we are constantly up to date with the frequent changes as they come into effect.
The lease enfranchisement team
Andrew Balcombe is a Director at HNG’s professional team with responsibility for all matters relating to residential property. His expertise encompasses lease enfranchisement, valuation and acting as Expert Witness. He is also one of the very few surveyors on the RICS Arbitration Panel, capable of accepting appointments on residential property.
He has been a chartered surveyor for more than 30 years. After starting in commercial property, he switched to residential 10 years ago when he became CEO of a company managing approximately £750m of residential property. He joined HNG in 2013 as a Director. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Member of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners.
After more than 20 years in the Landlord and Tenant sector, Martin’s experience encompasses rent reviews, lease renewals, arbitrations, valuations and acting as an expert witness. Recently this has encompassed residential enfranchisement work particularly in Greater London and the western home counties.
Guy joined HNG in early 2016 and works in the Leasehold Enfranchisement and Valuation team where he applies a number of years’ experience of the London and wider UK residential property markets. Guy has an MSc in Real Estate from London South Bank University following on from obtaining a degree in Geography at Exeter University.
